We started today drilling a 12mm hole into the upper spar tunnel and had a look with the Jaycar bore-a-scope....Not enough light for a good examination with the camera headlight alone. Next week we will be organising better lighting. An extra 12mm hole and a super bright LED on some coat hanger wire should do the trick. The upper spar tunnel is plywood with a few layers of glass under...no glass on top. It would play a minor structural role as a stiffener. I don't think there is any need to repair the 12mm holes. I will post more details next week
