Check for oil leaks from the rear crankshaft seal as that is usually the cause.
Ultimately the thing breaks down to very small parts and vanishes to the bottom
of the accessory case. Once that happens the engine gets really hard to start
and loses power due to the ignition timing retarding many degrees. The upshot
of that is the 2 coupling haves running against each other with out the rubber
centre element fatigues the coupling on the magneto side quite rapidly although
the crankshaft side suffers also. I have dealt with situation where both sides
are cracked and one nearly about to let go completely. The crack occurs at the
base of the paulls where it meets the round disk section.

Where are you situated assuming OZ.

I still have 2 left in stock.

Nige.

Subject: [DOG mailing list] Rubber Magneto Mount

All,

See attached.

We are restoring our H36 Dimona that has been sitting for many years. Today we
pulled the magneto. The rubber mount has rotted away. Can anyone give
directions where I can purchase a replacement?
