Hi All, Our little Dimona now has around 550 hrs on the engine (SMOH) .
There has been a small increase on oil blow by coming out of the crankcase vent. While not a lot, and no real need to top up between oil changes, it does make a mess. Not a lot of oil can go a long way. So after suitable investigation helped by Mr Google, I have designed a small oil catch can mounted alongside the right hand carb. It is very effective. Now no mess to clean . Although it could be said that if a VW engine does not leak some oil there is something wrong with it. So If anybody is interested, send me yr email address and I will send some pictures. It uses a very common cast aluminium (electronic) enclosure with 2 perforated fiberglass sheet dividers inside.
