Is there any interest in something like the patch I proposed earlier in the thread, to run the regression tests in parallel (several threads that is, not MPI-parallel)? If it is, I can clean it up and make a merge request later. OTOH you may prefer to let make handle the parallelism, might be be a bit cleaner, but requires teaching make how to find and run the demos itself.
