Again you fail at seeing the point of using a community maintained, well defined standard and prefer rolling your own.
Fine, but we'll see what we see now, slow adoption, unclear rules, missing efficient rules, lenient enforcement, etc. The whole point of using a standard is not having to think about it, even if some rules sound stupid to you. If everyone applies the same ruleset, everybody's happy because we're working on the same page. Also, when the rules are maintained by the community, verification tools becomes a commodity and presets are available in most editors to allow for inline verification while coding without a heavy, disrupting, fucking annoying, checkstyle pass. This is not the '80s anymore. We have community driven, readily available tooling that we should embrace and leverage to their full potential so we can focus on our main goal : writing and maintaining one of the best open source ERPs available rather than tediously nitpicking every friggin' styling rules. PSR is one of them, alternatives are on the market (PEAR, Zend…), let's just pick one and stick to it ! I still think the best way would be to reach out to our community (a very simple poll) and ask them what they would prefer but looks like it's not your style. Sorry for being passionate enough to still care. I said i'd give up.
