I see.
I checked in v11 and it seems it is already searching into the field
description of line when you use the "quick search" on left menu. The list
of fields used are defined in to the array in htdocs/compta/facture/list.php

$fieldstosearchall = array(
'f.ref'=>'Ref',
'f.ref_client'=>'RefCustomer',
'pd.description'=>'Description',
's.nom'=>"ThirdParty",
'f.note_public'=>'NotePublic',
);
 and you have 'pd.description'=>'Description' that is description on line
level.

But it seems already available by default on previous versions too.
