[dom4j-user] Cast node to Element in XML4J-3_2_1

Hi all!
I'm new to the list and don't know if this question already has been answereed but 
here goes:

I have the following code:
            Element top = (Element)doc.getFirstChild();

This worked fine until I changed to a newer version of XML4J, now i get at Class Cast 
Exception.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
