Um, can someone explain this?  If the domain is expired, neither it nor
any of its subdomains will resolve.  Therefore, how can an "internet
user ... see a 404 error"?  Will tucows be implicitly renewing it (then
releasing it if and when any renewal funds are paid by the end user)?
