Tucows, You seem to have missed the point.

People here are commenting on the loss of _dialog_. dialog is 2 way
communication.

MHO:

A podcast is a monolog. You have to have the technology to use the
podcast. I cannot imagine any implementation that would allow responses to
a podcast to appear within the same medium as the podcast. See my notes on
blog comments below before protesting about comment forums for podcasts.

Podcasts cannot be processed by speed reading.

Weblog is a slightly enhanced monolog. You have the opportunity to post
comments. However, those comments are only available within the scope of
the blog post. If you do not read a particular blog post, then you do not
read the comment.

A blog post is NOT a dialog. If I want to comment on a blog entry, I have
to do it within a short period after the blog posting. Even then there is
a VERY good chance that anybody who would be intersted in my comment will
never read it because they have read the blog entry already. There is a
possiblity that they will return to read the comments, but how likely is
this?

Maybe the time for the mailing list has past. Maybe not. There is a lot to
be said about the 'keep it simple stupid' principal. IMHO, if your
customers want dialog by email list, you should be committing to dialog
by email list, but I don't know how many people want this.

I do know that I don't personally bother to waste my time looking at your
web site to see if there happens to be something intersting. I'll look for
documentation if I need it.

As far as news goes, the only channel I am tuned to is my email box. If it
isn't there, I'm not there to listen.

If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody there to hear does it
make a sound?
