Funny you should ask. There is diagram showing the complete "Domain
Life Cycle" in my inbox as I write this. It's not ready for
publication yet but I'll send you the draft for some feedback if you
don't mind. I'll do that offlist.
For example, there used to be a redemption period. I'm not sure if
that exists anymore or not.
Except for a VERY small portion of expired names which are sold at
auction to an interested buyer, the redemption period still holds.
The forty day "Grace Period" that comes before Redemption is still
there as well.
