I was watching the tube last night (Thursday
Sept. 30, 1999) on a Phoenix channel. An advertisement was being aired from the
Las Vegas tourism bureau. Quite honestly, I wasn't paying any attention at all
to the ad. I subliminally found Myself following the guitar melody being played
and then it dawned on Me. I was listening to a Doobie Brothers riff! Not a
common riff, though. It had to have been played only by somebody VERY familiar
with a "one off" recording! The only place that the person could have
heard it was on the Wildlife Concert C.D. or live. The riff is on the live
version of Without You. Specifically, Disc Two- song 7- and if You have a
counter that is the same as Mine it is between 2:43 to 2:55 and 2:57 to 3:09. So
come on You other southwestern folks,,,,,,, Help Me solve the mystery. Also,
importantly, Do the Doobie Brothers get any royality that may be due
unknowlingly from it's use? I am sorry that I can't provide any more information
on the ad, but You can be assured that I am going to watch closer for it. Also,
did anyone tape the Doobies singing the National Anthem at the L.A. Dodgers game
on Wednesday?????. Later, Professor Doobie.
