I'm finally getting a chance to listen in depth to the box set now that
business is slowing down for the season. Things have been kind of crazy for
me the last few months. Here's a few comments and questions for the Doobie
faithful:
1. On the back page of the booklet who is the guy (with the tambourine)
between John & Tiran? I'm thinking it might be Timothy B Schmidt of the
Eagles but I can't tell.
2. For more than 20 years I've been trying to figured out what that
instrument is played at the end of "Chinatown" and the "Echoes Of Love"
solo. It's Skunk playing a Hammond guitar synthesizer.
3. I am convinced that whoever edited the "Here To Love You" single edit was
on some serious drugs! That's the worst job of editing down a song I've ever
heard. Warner Brothers tried to scale down 31 seconds of the song to make it
more radio friendly and really botched it up. I've always loved the little
break just before the "Just let me go on lovin' you" part. I'm sure the bros
didn't have any thing to do with that.
That's all
