Hello ,
Here's another poll :
How many of us would rather receive Doobies email as a
digest
rather than randomly received messages ?
In response to Blair Barnett's message regarding email on
this list, I'd like to mention my requests to Laurin our prez and
Zach our mint.net service provider. I enjoy reading the messages but
prefer a single compilation posting as one email entry of several
messages received by the server. Other bulletin boards send a
compilation email when the number of
incoming messages reaches a predetermined amount. We could look
forward
to a single email labelled "Doobies Digest" rather than several
individual interruptive emails when in the midst of the daily chore of
sorting and assigning a level of priority to all email.
Personally, I confront over 200 incoming---and usually
important---daily emails. Do the math---spending 30 seconds on each
message is at least one hour and 40 minutes a day just on email, and
many incoming messages require much longer than 30 seconds of attention.
If the Doobies list is a single email every few days, we could
save the posting for savoring in a quiet, relaxing moment rather than
sorting through the random individual messages in the middle of a hectic
existence.
Other bulletin boards offer each user the choice of receiving
individual emails or a periodic digest.
Why not this list ?
The purpose of the Fan Club and the email bulletin board is to
bring people together, not drive them away.
Blair and others could remain viable members of the club if we
are able to reduce the amount email while maintaining the level of
content. How many people have we lost already ?
The purpose of the Fan Club and the email bulletin board is to
bring people together, not drive them away.

Zach ,
Thanks for the reply to the Doobies list in digest form
inquiry.
As a gentle suggestion, remember most other servers offer
bulletin boards
in digest as well as piecemeal form for the convenience of the
subscribers.
Please eventually include this feature on the mint.net server,
especially for the Doobie Brothers Fan Club bulletin board.
Thanks !
