This is not directed at anyone but I feel it needs to be said. The
following is my opinion but I feel it makes perfect sense. Please read
and think carefully about this. Please do NOT respond. I don't want to
start a thread on this topic, I'd just like for you to think about this.
About those virus warnings... I don't think they are appropriate on a
list like this. To those that feel compelled to send them, why do you
feel you have to tell us about them? Do you think we have no other
source of information other than the DOOBIE BROTHER FAN CLUB LIST?
I'm sure you're thinking, "Well, I'm HELPING people with my virus
warning." Maybe so, but those of us who know how to read a newspaper,
watch the news on television or even visit a VIRUS ALERT WEBSITE,
usually know about this stuff before you pass on the email message from
last month from your Uncle George. (Ever notice how many times those
things have been quoted, so much so that you can't even read them
because the formatting is all messed up, not to mention you have to dig
through 50,000 email addresses just to find the body of the email?)
I race cars for a hobby. Should I post everything I feel is important
about the automotive world to you just because I feel I'm helping
someone? After all, you're helping all of us because we all have
computers. Well you all have cars too. Should I pass along every bit of
important information about your car? No!
Do NOT use FRAM oil filters because they can destroy your engine.

There, I just passed along some IMPORTANT information that may save your
engine from blowing up and I'll probably save you some money too. Was I
right in sending this to THIS list? NO WAY! I WAS WRONG to pass this
through this list. It has NO BUSINESS being posted to this list. Virus
warnings and other non-Doobie posts should NOT be posted on this Doobie
Brothers list either.
To those of you that actually WANT to see virus warnings, please go to
the appropriate sources for your information.
