You couldn't have said it any better!
A few of us have been on this list since the very beginning, enjoying it's
highlights and now its lowlights. We have suffered and endured countless
numbers of incidents; good and bad. We have never suffered, however,
indignity, which Mr. Webb's post has now burdened us all with.
8 gentlemen, whom we admire and enjoy, some of us for as long as they have
been around, gave us this home to meet, chat and exchange, and that we have
done and enjoyed since the inception of the club. And, we have come away
unscathed from any number of minor differences and skirmishes, with the
chat/mail list still in tact.
The 8 gentlemen, very much in favor of allowing us to continue as though
they have never happened....sorting out our problems through our own
devices.
This however, is much more difficult to overlook, and one can only hope,
that the Doobies, their Management and others, will continue to allow us to
use this place, albeit a little more intelligently.
This is not the first encounter with Mr. Webb, and I trust, as Torrey has
suggested, that it be the last.
Please forgive the old man of the club to have spouted off a little, I
couldn't hold it in any longer.

As everyone is by now aware, there has been a grotesquely improper use of
the list serve this week. IMPROPER USE OF THIS FORUM OR OTHER IMPROPER
BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! PERIOD!
Using this list serve to promote ANY sort of ILLEGAL ACTIVITY is not only
STRICTLY PROHIBITED but CAN AND WILL give the Doobie Brothers just cause to
SHUT DOWN THE LIST SERVE WITHOUT WARNING!!! The Doobies will certainly read
the posts and will know exactly what has transpired. I just hope we're
still here when the dust settles.
The Fan Club list serve was sent a misleading post regarding Pat's & Tiran's
solo CDs. Members who responded to the note expected to receive an e mail
address where they could order the CDs for themselves. Instead, they were
asked to engage in an illegal activity. We are dealing with this breach of
conduct swiftly. Many thousands of hours and many thousands of dollars have
been spent by Fan Club members to make this club a success. I, for one,
will not go quietly when the existence of the Fan Club is jeopardized by
someone who has done NOTHING to make this club what it is today.
We've always said there were only 2 rules for the Fan Club...I guess there
are really 3:
1) It's about the Doobie Brothers
2) If you have a problem about that, please refer to rule number 1, and
3) THE FAN CLUB IS NOT TO BE USED FOR YOUR FINANCIAL GAIN!!!
