Well said, Peter.
Any time you post, you have great pearls of wisdom to pass along to all of
us. You love this band and are devoted to it as though they are your own
family, and it shows. I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers since I was 9
(I'm 38) and have been on this list serve for about a year and a half.
As I told Laurin in a private post earlier today, we as members of this club
and list serve are very fortunate that the Doobie Brothers allow a free Fan
Club, list serve, and backstage passes. I have heard of other bands and
individuals charging fees to keep up with their latest news, concert dates,
and various other goings-on, and have paid some of them over the years. Not
only that, some bands and individuals raffle off backstage passes, put them
in to a lottery and draw names, or make their members apply for them by mail,
they are NOT given out freely. And in one particular performer's case, an
individual is only allowed one backstage pass per year and to have one item
signed at that backstage event. So, we could have it a lot worse than we have
it.
I sincerely hope this list serve continues. Let's hope the guys can see the
good side of the list. There are a lot of wonderful people here who really
care about them and admire them for the music they have played and their many
other accomplishments over the years--both as individuals and as a group,
musically as well as non-musically.
As for our part, let's get back to the reason we're all here--THE DOOBIE
BROTHERS!
