For what it is worth, in my humble opinion, there is a very big difference
between GIVING a friend a copy of a tape or CD which is not available, and
for all intents and purposes never will be again, and SELLING for profit
that same music. I am one of the fortunate people who possesses everything
ever recorded by the Doobies, Tommy solo, and Pat solo. Until recently I
did not know that Tiran had a solo endeaver. Unfortunately, a lot of my
collection consists of LP's which I was smart enough to play only once to
record on a cassette for my own use, but I do not have all of their
releases on CD which is the only way to go! Like everyone else, I
constantly keep my eyes and ears open for elusive CD's, especially Tommy's
two solos.

My point is this. There is a very big difference in motive between SELLING
and GIVING. I will admit that if a friend asked me to make a cassette copy
of anything I have that is not available and probably never will be again,
I would more than likely do it, free of charge. If the music is still
available to be purchased, cough up the cash to your local record store.
Our Doobs have families to feed just like the rest of us.

The tragedy of this is that obviously there is a large demand for out of
print music, and the record companies are too stupid to realize that they
can make money, along with the royalties the band would receive. Whatever
happened to supply and demand?

Again, this is only my humble opinion.
