I have seen Steely Dan live twice in the past five years, and the shows are
great! Since just after the second album, SD has been Walter Becker and
Donald Fagan, and the excellent musicians that they've assembled. Fagan is
such a perfectionist, that he will often bring in multiple musicians to play
the same track, and then pick the version that he likes best. Prior to they
cessation of touring in the 70s, Mike McDonald toured with the group, and I
actually found a bootleg of one of those concerts. I also have their
official live CD from their tour about 4 years ago.
Now, the touring SD group includes Cornelius Bumpus. I can promise you, if
you go, you will not be disappointed.
