wow. I really don't know what else to say except.....wow. My
head is still spinning, trying to assemble all the fantastic experiences of the
last few days! After missing a connecting flight in Las Vegas on the way out,
got there Wednesday afternoon just in time to head for Villa Montalvo for show #
1. The view from up there is just breathtaking! Even more so after the show when
the valley below is all lit up! We stayed after the show, and John and Keith
came out to spend some time with us. Thursday afternoon Tiran came to the Los
Gatos Lodge and hung out with us for a few hours. What a neat guy! Very
personable and easy to talk with. Thursday night's show rocked even harder that
Wednesday's! (as if that was possible!) After the show Big Mike and Guy came out
for awhile. ( In a couple of weeks we'll need to be sending baby congrats to Guy
and his wife! - first one) Friday was the Fan Club Social. Through the afternoon
we had visits from Keith, John, Tommy, Marc, and Big Mike. They were all very
gracious about signing autographs and pausing for pics. Keith literally donated
the vest off his back for the auction, with the stipulation that he be able to
wear it for Friday night's show. I think Shad was a little overwhelmed at the
amount of money raised in the auction - really heartwarming to see. And the
expressions on Rick and Lori Seaman's faces when they won the chance to go
onstage for Listen To The Music were just priceless! The Friday show was
right up there with the others. This time we got to go into the backstage area,
and ALL the guys were around! What other band in the universe would
treat their fans so well?!!!
Those of you that have been there will know where I'm coming
from when I say to those of you that haven't, start saving those pennies and
nickels, set aside some tax return money, or whatever you have to do to go next
year!!!! I've just had one of the greatest experiences of my life, listening to
the greatest band on the planet, along with some of the greatest fans on the
planet!! I met so many great people out there... it's just hard to describe how
great it was to put faces and personalities with some of the people that had
been just names on a computer screen. To all of you that I got to meet out
there, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!! To the band, thank you, thank
you, thank you! None of this would have happened without you, and this fan
appreciates the chance to have three days like those!
