Title: The Doobie Brothers And Their Fans

It's hard to believe that three weeks ago a gathering for three great causes took place. The Vietnam Veterans, the children at Stanford, and of course meeting the Doobies and watching three great performances. (great things come in threes) What a week it was. Nothing was wrong about any of it except that Patrick wasn't feeling well, although, when he was working it you couldn't tell. If the entire world had a work ethic like that most if not all of the troubles in the world would soon have no place on Earth. Aspire.

With a band and a fan base like this it's hard to imagine that some of the so called artists that are the flavor of the week nowadays are in the limelight. Over the last 20 or so years it's been hair bands and angst ridden influences that get all the attention in the rock industry which is sad. Do or did these bands take up such worthy causes as the vets or sick children? This may sound prejudiced, however, the Doobie Brothers stand far away and above the aforementioned. They are more than a hugely successful corporation. They stand for a principle of high esteemed values with a message of love and hope. Despite their internal changes and issues they seem to have remained true to their music, themselves, and their fans. Their fans. Without a doubt this fan base is also one of a kind. Different kinds of people with different lives, different backgrounds, different cultures. These differences do not hamper the fact that the fans know each other thanks to the Doobies. This is no surprise. Sure, there a few who do not get the point but even they see some of what The Doobies are all about.

The Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame, MTV, VH-1, and the radio stations that play today's hitz are, sadly, missing out on a wonderful thing. That's a shame because great comfort can be achieved by simply putting on a Doobies record, tape, or CD. And now a new studio recording showcasing the current lineup is about to be released. This is a great opportunity for the world to embrace the greatest band, once again. That's right. The World's Greatest Band. Any arguments, questions, or controversy? Didn't think so.

It does not appear that The Doobie Brothers will be slowing down any time soon. Now, we the fans also have an opportunity. Tell your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to Listen To The Music, once again. Let's seize this chance. So roll down your windows, open the convertibles, remove the hard tops, open the front door and windows in our homes, call the radio stations around the world, and let your town, country, and community Listen To The Music, too. If the great, great Carlos Santana can do it.........
