When I came through the door, Rocking Horse was playing. It rocks alright!
And then I finally got to hear Five Corners again. It's been a long time since I heard it in Toga. I love the pedal steel in the background.
Leave My Heartache Behind - Many of you will recognize this as "Blues To The Highway" from Pat's second solo CD. I was really hoping that the whole band would do this from the first time I heard it. Thanks guys! And that high harmony part just gives me goosebumps. I've been singin' that part myself every time I listen to the solo version.
Jericho - Yow! Get out your George Clinton rainbow funk wig and outrageous platform heels! I LOVE THIS SONG! Gospel meets The Parliament Mothership!
Angels Of Madness - A very emotional song to be sure. What I want to know is who's singing lead?
Can't Stand To Lose - What harmonies! The guys have definitely opened up a can of vocal whoop-ass on The Eagles with this one.
Higher Ground - TJ does it again! Gospel tinged Rock 'N Roll!
Gates Of Eden - What a fantastic love song! Keith shows off his heretofore unseen talents on this song, and On Every Corner as well. I hope we get to hear these live over the coming months.
If you were expecting another Stampede, or Fault Line, this isn't it. This is the full musical bloom of a group composed of 8 masterful musicians, who are all getting better every day. This amazing album has the potential (in my opinion anyway) to produce major hits in at least three different genres at once. Now that's talent!
