Dear Fan Club, Doobie Brothers, my friends,   In light of the reference to the personal challenges of Keith and his daughter the other day, and the HUGE OPPORTUNITY the VH1-Behind the Music presents, please allow me to step out of the closet a minute, and read on.  Let's hope VH1 and the Doobies take full advantage, not to deny the past, but to embrace the reality for the benefit of our children and future generations.   John Hartman told me something once that made me realize that my future potential would never be reached by the temporary high I was about to enjoy. It made me embrace my self worth, and take the personal stand against the pier pressure to say "NO".  It was tough, but with time my piers saw that I could be creative, happy and prosper straight, and they got straight too!   Hartman later told me that he had hoped his fellow band members would use their media power to take a public stand against drugs.  This would serve as a tremendous publicity grabber, an example for their children and public.  To admit the truth, and take a stand to make sure the next generation does not befall the temptation to limit their future potential, and endanger their health.   Let's take a moment and pray for all involved to make the BEST of the VH1 opportunity to make a difference, and share the Sibling Rivalry that made the Doobies grow up to be the greatest band for 30 years with the VH1 viewers.   Strength, Peace and Joy in Life,  Sheri Dawn -----Original Message----- From: David R. Though some might argue that any publicity is good publicity, that hasn't always been the case with this band - they've been regularly trashed by critics and the establishment for 30 years! Hopefully, this will represent a departure from that. I've always said their music stands up to anyone else's in popular music; VH1 should echo that sentiment.   Ciao -   David
