Here we go folks..... Our BTM party, hosted by Big Daddy Doob, Palmer, and the First Lady, was simply great! Van Helen, Annabelle, Steverino, David, and Dream Chick Deborah all converged on Richmond, VA with Cindy and I at the Holiday Inn. After a couple of hours of lubrication, and watching Laurin dance on top of the tables in the bar with an unknown lady of questionable virtues, (more to come in "The Laurin Willis Story") we migrated to the Lone Star Steakhouse and had a wonderful meal. With Big Daddy Doob leading the way, our caravan arrived at his Mom and Dad's house, where Big Daddy's Daddy looked on with astonishment at this crazy entourage. With only a few minutes left before showtime, a hush fell over the group. Then, the familiar strains of Doob tunes began to fill the air. I don't think that anyone took a breath for the next 60 minutes. Personally, I now have an even deeper respect for our band. They presented themselves as human beings with human frailties who were willing to say "We made mistakes, bad choices, we admit it, we learned from them, cleaned up our acts, and now try to help other people not to make the same mistakes that we did". I salute you one and all! What courage it takes to stand up in front of millions of people, and admit our faults. I have always know that our Doobs were the greatest guys in the world, and BTM just confirmed my beliefs. After BTM we discussed the show, talked about the LA Convention, and perused some memorabilia which will be sold to benefit the NVF. Our evening ended all too soon, but with promises all around to get together again as a group. Now, as far as "The Laurin Willis Story", I will be very happy to contribute any and all dirt I have..........for $$$$$$$, especially if I am to get to LA. LOL Motorcycles, I wanna hear motorcycles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
