Turns out my <mumble>-year-old solder paste still works...ish.
Old solder paste can be a real pain. Melts, but the flux doesn't work like it should. I strongly recommend buying some new paste - or show up at the PARTS meet-up that Scott Dixon hosts at PSU.
   I
stuffed the board last night, and after fooling around with my
Txtzyme-based programmer, it looks like most of the project works.

I haven't tried the USB yet (except for checking that you can power the
display from USB). I really need to make a faster programmer, because
it takes a few minutes to flash even a simple program using Txtzyme.
The Teensy2 (and maybe the 3?) makes a great programmer. Ask Paul S. for all the details and a pointer to the code.

Regards,
