My Dearest Dorks,

Free to a geek/dorky/makery home/shop/lab: 42" Phillips LCD TV. 1080p,
etc., etc. Model # PFL7422D/37.

It's pretty nice, with the exception that the power board for the backlight
is a piece of 狗屎 and gave out after 6 months. It works fine except for that
whole "viewing" part. It turns on and you can hear what you're watching,
but the screen is black.

So, it's a project.

My intent has been to either replace the backlight power board ($$) or to
install LED backlighting (way more fun). I've long ago purchased a cheaper,
lighter, all-around-better TV, so my hope was to use this in a more artful
way. Two ideas that I've been toying with are: electronic window or
interactive table.

Unfortunately, that intent has been the same for several years and my wife
is finally like "DUDE. Seriously."

I'm car-free so you'll have to pick it up if you want it. I'm in inner SE,
not far from Cleveland High and the Clinton Street Theater. (I'm willing to
cargo bike it to you if you live darned close.)

Happy to answer questions.

Thanks,

Matt
