Sometimes the image is partially rendered and one row of macroblocks (?) are corrupt. Other times the image is black. Other times the viewer can't read the image. There shouldn't be any interrupts in use, I have an SD shield that I write to flash with and AFAIK that polls a status bit to test for completion.
I'll try irfanview and see what it says.
