I'm working on building some Ergodox keyboards http://ergodox.org/ along with some friends at work. We plan to order PCBs, do a group Digikey order, and have a build day sometime in the near future. I also own a 40w CNC laser and will probably be cutting cases for people for the cost of materials, but if you have a 3D printer you can print your own case!
Since everyone wants different keycaps and switches we will likely have people purchase those separately based on their preferences. We are planning on ordering PCBs next week. Right now we have 6 sets and the price is $34pr, but if we get up to 10 the price goes down pretty significantly to $25 for a pair (left and right). If you are interested I have a Google sheet with the BOM and prices we are paying, it's a group buy and no one looks to make a buck off of it so I'm going to provide all the receipts and be as transparent as possible.
