The first thing I would try is checking what shell is being fired up by the other terminal emulator. Just run 'ps' in a session that is not doing anything and you will usually see two entries. An example: $ ps PID TTY TIME CMD 4506 pts/2 00:00:00 zsh 4524 pts/2 00:00:00 ps So you can see I am executing ps and zsh. In this case zsh is my shell. It is just worth checking other parts of your system are using bash. You could also look at changing the shell you are using for konsole. Settings -> Edit current profile -> Gerneral -> Command Again this would be just a test if you are used to using bash. -- Using Opera M2: http://www.opera.com/mail/ -- Next meeting: C4L and Bournemouth, Wednesday 2010-06-02 19:00 http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=2645413 Chat: http://www.mibbit.com/?server=irc.blitzed.org&channel=%23dorset List info: https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/dorset
