Hi Laurie, Sorry, lots of questions for you! Is this the guide you used? http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-sis-771671-mirage-3-video-drivers-in-ubuntu-10-04-lucid.html Obviously that guide is for 10.04 and you may have encountered compatibility issues along the way. This guy reports success with 10.10 but his instructions are pretty minimal: http://hellbunker.blogspot.com/2010/11/sis-m671-on-linux.html ... might be worth a go, but see the hardware question below before you get stuck in. When you installed Ubuntu, did you use the 'live CD' and if so what resolution did you get during the install? And finally, what resolution are you aiming for, or put another, can you tell us a little about the hardware?
