Same thought occurred to me too. You could also edit the hosts file [*] to allow name resolution to work.

[*] /etc/hosts on *nix boxes and C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts on Windows, IIRC, although it will be slightly different on 64 bit windows.
