Hi,

Some time ago, something changed in my network/Kubuntu and it became really
difficult to browse the network. After a bit of investigation, I noticed that
I could see the Workgroup if a Windows computer was on the network, but not
when my machine was the only one connected or the other was another K(U)buntu
box.

At the time I suspected that the new router I was using was the problem and
then I discovered a Ubuntu web page which told how to get samba working. This
page included some settings in smb.conf and also that some other packages
needed to be installed.

Time passes....

With all my problems with the 11.10 upgrade, I eventually did a clean install,
including starting over again with the /home directory. I carefully backed my
old /home and then selectively copied back my data and config files. Except,
I forgot smb.conf, because it's in /etc not my own directory ;-(

Now I can't find that original web page! Anyone know where it might be? I
distinctly remember that I needed to add something to the end of one line and
re-order another, but I can't remember the details.
