I haven't got any experience of Apple products so not much to add there

PS - has anyone here ever read Neal Stephenson's "In the Beginning Was
the Command Line"?
That's another no I am afraid, but I have read pretty much everything
else he has written! Cryptonomicon is probably my favourite, with
Snowcrash not far behind.
