Interesting. I was doing it on-line as I did not have access to my 'office' as it was Mother-in-Law and Granddaughter's bedroom for the weekend. I was pruning out what I thought was a bit of excess in order to minimize the email size. So these two hyphens have a purpose and shouldn't be used in the middle of emails in case they stimulate the addition of extra material?
