Or alternatively, declare your own meeting place and time for a
non-Bournemouth meet and try and drum up local attendees?

Their meetings are monthly and tender to wander a bit more.  Dorchester
was this month's, next month will probably be Wareham.  I'm not aware of
them making it further west than Dorchester.  They discuss meetings on
the dotdorset Google group linked from that page.
