Due to stupidity and my own impatience I managed to screw up my previous install on my PC so I am in the process of reinstalling and setting up a new distro. But for a while not I have had a problem and that is my Nas
The Nas is just a single disk basic unit, the OS on the nas is Linux based but locked so I have very little control over it. I have two area's (folders I guess) where I can save my stuff, one folder is called openshare which by its name is open to anybody to read - write to and the other folders (who name I can't remember) is password protected and is meant for private stuff. I don't use this private 'folder' I just use the openshare folder.
What I want is the nas to be available to my entire network with read and write access to all (windows and Linux PC). It seem the Linux PC have the biggest problem, I can normally get the nas to read and write but my wife can only read from her PC (both Linux). I can't always get it to mount at boot time 9A line in the fstab file using cifs) and have to mount via the cli
Can anybody offer any advice on how to get this working for all Tim -- Next meeting: Bournemouth, Tuesday, 2012-11-06 20:00 Meets, Mailing list, IRC, LinkedIn, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ New thread on mailing list: mailto:[email protected] How to Report Bugs Effectively: http://goo.gl/4Xue
