Did you tell your local machine that the printer was remote, presumably
on 192.168.1.1, your router, and that it should use the Internet
Printing Protocol, port 631, to talk to it?  Or could it be trying to
contact a printer on the local machine and failing?

You could try talking normal HTTP to that remote port to see if anything
interesting shows up:  http://192.168.1.1:631/
