I did a quick google for 'acsm linux' and the consensus seems to be, sadly,
that the ACSM file ( the clue is in the name: Adobe Content Server Manager
) just acts as a download controller for the obtaining of the file by the
local Adobe Digital Editions. It seems there's not a way to 'spoof' the
Adobe server side that you're not making the download from a certified
Adobe Digital Editions copy.

Nearest compromise seems to be using ADE under Wine:

that's not ideal :(
