There may be an advanced DNS editor in 1 & 1 that allows this. Note that in
DNS terms the "." on the end of the target is important, although their web

It seems that John is on the right lines, as 1and1 allows me to enter an HTTP redirect, which I have done as "http://ggemmill.ddns.net., with the "." on the end as he suggests.. The 1and1 help text makes no mention of the dot. It suggests that the change will take effect "in a few minutes". However, although "https://ggemmill.ddns.net/owncloud"; gets me where I want to be, neither "https://share.gemmill.name/owncloud"; nor the http: version do. I have also tried specifying the redirect as "https://......"; with no effect (yet?)
