Hi Terry, Wifi-wise, your best bet in my opinion would be to get some wireless access points and scatter them around the house. There are also mesh systems you can get if you don't want wires everywhere. Just make sure you disable the wifi on the router, and disable router-mode on the mesh.
I've heard some good things about the TP-Link Deco systems, although I haven't used them myself.
