I am running MX Linux (Debian Trixie), part of the base package that is installed includes Flatpak, I have a dislike for Flatpak (and the other similar software distribution system) and would prefer if it was not installed on my system.

Yesterday I saw an update for Flatpak on my system, I checked my system and yes there was a version installed but I was not using any flatpak based applications so I uninstalled it. This morning my system tells me there is an update and it wants to install packageĀ flatpak (1.16.6-1~deb13u2). How do I block it from installing the Flatpak application??

Is it simply:

sudo apt-mark hold flatpak (1.16.6-1~deb13u2) Or is it:

sudo apt-mark hold flatpak

Regards
