Oh thanks for reminding: of course you need an
up-to-date DOS as well. You are not supposed to
run some ms-dos 1.0, for sure. dosemu is not suited
for some ancient stuff.
And, to get a good graphics under X, with midi and
adlib, you surely need a very modern CPU too.
dosemu's goal is exactly this: run old software in a
_modern_ environment. If you don't want to run in a
modern environment, you can just dual-boot to DOS. :)
The features dosemu used to offer for the older systems,
like the console graphics and the native CPU execution,
are rapidly vanishing.
