*Please send resumes to [email protected]* * * *TITLE: QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER* *DURATION: 10/1/2010 – 3/31/2010* *LOCATION: BOSTON, MA* START DATE IS FIRM *Interview process:* *1) 30 min phone screen with mgr 2) in person interview with mgr, QA and either dev or product person* The Quality Assurance Engineer will be involved in creating and executing complex test plans and working interactively with Product Development and Product Management to improve the quality of the products. The project really is business as usual – clean-up. Need someone to come in and hit the ground running. They will be working with another Sr. QA Engineer but will need to work independently as well. · The ideal candidate must have a solid grasp of the product life cycle - from initial marketing requirements through development, testing, and deployment. · The ideal candidate will be able to effectively participate in cross-functional meetings, clearly articulate project risk and provide concise recommendations to Development and Product Management. · The QA Engineer will also be expected to bring a breadth of QA experience and best practices to the company. · Group supports technology that provides estimates on financial information. The product is Thomson One. Supporting this product which is a legacy Thomson product and will have Reuters integrated into the product. Qualifications Knowledge and Experience: 1. Requires BSCS or other Bachelors with relevant professional experience. 2. *3+ years of QA experience * 3. Excellent analytical abilities Specific Tasks: *(Must Have) Bold is most important otherwise NOT in order of importance.* 1. *Strong Transact-SQL Skills for writing complex SQL queries in MS SQL Server* 2. Understanding of windows services, web applications, web services (IIS 5.0 - IIS 6.0) 3. Experience with .NET applications 4. Experience testing *Web-based n-tier applications* 5. Beneficial to have experience with XML\XSL 6. Reviewing and providing feedback on product specifications 7. Creating test plans and QA project plans 8. Creating and executing test cases 9. Software Technical knowledge and Troubleshooting skills are imperative 10. Reporting on progress and risk to management 11. Actively participating as a member of the cross-functional project team 12. Must have full understanding of Quality Assurance processes and product life cycle 13. Must be able to apply quality assurance principles based on the needs of the project and business 14. Financial application experience Other Tasks (*Nice to Have) Bold is most important otherwise NOT in order of importance.* 1. Adaptable to shifting priorities and working on multiple projects in single quarter. 2. Self-motivated and energetic. 3. Ability to successfully liaison with cross-functional groups 4. *Automation skills* 5. Experience with Mercury's Quality Center and/or Segue SilkTest is a plus Qualifications Knowledge and Experience: 1.
