*Engineer -- **Enterprise** Monitoring and Management (EM&M) Production
Support *

Participate as a contributing team member in providing 24 X 7 production
support for the Enterprise Monitoring & Management (EM&M) team.  Also, lead
or participate in development and integration activities to roll out EM&M
toolset to the corporate infrastructure



Specific duties include:



·         Develop tools, interfaces, or wrappers to support integration
across multiple management interfaces.**

·         Develop the logic, scripts, and programs for the distributed
agents and probes that collect, process, and forward events to the
centralized monitoring and reporting system.**

·         Contribute to the configuration and customization of distributed
agents (MicroMuse SSM) and scripts for monitoring UNIX, WINTEL, network, and
database devices, application logs, SYSLOGs, etc.

·         Work closely with UNIX, Network, Database, and WINTEL support
groups, and with business application groups, to understand and prioritize
their requirements for the effective implementation of monitoring solutions
and to maximize the effectiveness of the monitoring environment.

·         Understand API logic to develop interfaces to support streamlined
integration across various platforms.

·         *Participate in the rotation of production support primary duty
with other team members. May include weekends depending on the position.*

·         While performing primary duty, respond to pages within 15 minutes
100% of time

·         Maintain Remedy incident tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
This includes assigning and resolving cases in a reasonable time frame, and
entering complete and relevant, resolution information.

·         Maintain Service request cases in a timely and efficient manner.
This includes assigning reasonable target completion dates, putting to
completed status on or before due date 100% of time, and entering relevant,
complete information

·         Identify problems and correct them as soon as possible to restore
full service

·         Coordinate resolution with infrastructure and application support
groups and implement changes to prevent problem recurrence

·         Participate in supporting user requests and daily maintenance
duties

·         Assist with tasks delegated by the EM&M engineering team.

*Technical Skill and Qualifications:*

·                     Preferred: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information
Systems, or related field.

·                     REQUIRED: Enterprise system monitoring experience (2+
yrs.)

·                     Highly Desirable: Direct experience in System &
Network Management Systems Using 3 or more: Managing, maintaining,
troubleshooting -  IBM NetCool (Omnibus, Impact. Reporter, Precision, ITM,
ISM, SSM, WEBTop), Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and SNMP Management
Protocols , TripWire, Guardium, InfoVista, HP Business Process Monitors
(BPM-Topaz), Oracle, Remedy. IIS, Apache

·         Highly Desirable:  Experience in 3 or more of these environments:
UNIX (Solaris 8,10; AIX 5.x, SUSE Linux 9.x/10.x),Veritas VCS, Veritas VM,
Web Logic 5/6/7/8, Oracle 9x/10x, Sybase 12/15, Network (IP), LDAP, DNS, Web
firewalls, fireproofs, load balancers, global load balancers, portals

·                     Desirable: 3+ years experience in varied technical
positions (requires broad technical IS knowledge at a mid to senior level),
including development experience implementing systems Infrastructure
development/support preferred. High level of interpersonal skills must be
well developed., communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills.

·                     Required: High level of interpersonal, communication
(verbal and written) and negotiation skills.

*·                     *Desirable: Experience in Windows NT, Windows
2000, Internet
Information Server, SQL Server and Oracle Databases (desired).

·                     Preferred: UNIX sys admin skills are required.
Documentation, verbal, and presentation skills must be demonstrated.

·                     Desirable: Programming skills must be demonstrable,
and must include one of more of the following:
Advanced scripting (PERL/BOURNE/KORN), C programming

·                     Desirable:  XML; Java; SNMP; MIBII; J2EE

·                     Desirable:  Database interfaces (Sybase and/or Oracle)

·         Desirable: Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Project,
Powerpoint, Excel, Word) **
