(May be asked to come on site.)* *Unix Support Position Description* This position is for a systems administrator with the ability to support *Oracle Linux, Red Hat Linux and Solaris operating systems in an x86 virtualized environment. * *Position Requirements:* - The ability to build and maintain Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris servers o Working knowledge of VMware vCenter tools o Have the ability to create install, configure, maintain, patch and upgrade Linux/Unix server operating systems and system software applications o Interact with IT analysts and end users to determine system requirements, estimate work efforts and develop and document system changes - Command line expertise in Linux and UNIX - Web server configuration and support knowledge - Troubleshooting capabilities o Perform diagnostics o Problem identification and resolution o Perform vendor escalation as needed - Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills are essential - Must have strong interpersonal skills o Excellent customer service skills o Ability to work well in a team environment o Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated and self-driven - This position also requires the ability to be on-call 24/7 *Experience*: - Four years or more experience as a system administrator with the Linux/UNIX operating systems - A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
