My daughter (who's 16) started learning Japanese three years ago. Now we
get to watch and listen to lots of anime in the original language
(whether we want to or not <g>). Maybe it's a growing trend in the
U.S...

Yes, I am a Japanese and this is just the begining of the "Return of the
Jed, oops, Japanese". ;-)  I'm kidding.

We Japanese see two postings on the site.  One is said to be Microsoft
.NET Framework, and the other is Microsoft .NET Framework Japanese
Version. The size is slightly different.

This seems to me that some attributes of those files are wrong and they
are not treated as "the same software for the different culture".

So, I think it is your turn now.  Learn Japanese.  Famous Jeffrey
Richter have learnt Japanese sometime ago (see Chapter 12 of his latest
book). It's pretty interesting language. :-)
