I cannot imagine coding with voice recognition! I got an email from the Speech .NET guys a couple weeks ago, that they are still working on it, but no date for a beta. Instead of VoiceXml, it will be a diff standard called SALT. My guess is that there will be managed libs for fat apps as well. If you want to do stuff now: Here is how to add VoiceXml to ASP.NET http://www.brains-N-brawn.com/vxml http://www.brains-N-brawn.com/myVoices I put C# code out there for calling wrapped COM Speech SDKs as well, it's in the one of the public speech newsgroups. Not in my opinion. I've tried several brands and versions and have never been able to be productive with it. I can get it to function with a lot of work (training, several attempts to say the words), but in the end it's just not a productive means of interfacing to the system. -----Original Message----- From: dotnet discussion [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of franklin gray Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2002 2:38 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [DOTNET] Release date for .NET Speech SDK?
