I have a Crusoe-based portable, and although adequate, it's performance is
underwhelming. But I was thinking that it might be able to really kick ass
running .NET apps if the VM were to be written in native Crusoe
instructions, rather than having to emulate the x86 instructions. I suppose
it would still spend a lot of time emulating (executing OS code), but for
CPU-intensive apps, it could make a big difference.

Anyone know if this is feasible, or if Transmeta and/or Microsoft have been
exploring this possibility?
