Automating the process of modifying the IE security settings isnt a good idea because it affects more than just your file/site. Infact, with the impending release of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (RC1 onwards) that code will not function even from if loaded from the local file system, let alone from an intranet/internet site due to the security lockdown your machine is put into. Given the security changes in SP2 and the possibility that some (many actually) application might actually fail or work in unexpected ways when run on an SP2 machine (to maintain backward compatibility with "applications" that might be broken, there are tweaks that help bypass these security checks. But these bypass tricks are not recommended unless its really a break-fix for a broken application. And this application is still under development (so these is still a chance to fix it before it actually breaks in SP2) Please see if there is an alternative to changing the IE security settings and/or launching the application from the webpage. If its really the way to go - then shoot back and we'll work on it. Thanks, Chandra Chivukula |
