You do not actually kill the server-side session when IE is closed. ASP.Net does not have an event to handle the browser close. So, it cannot kill a session on browser close. What really happens is that, when all instances of the browser are closed, the in-memory cookie variable for the session is lost. So, the user can't pick up the same session. The server-side session will eventually expire by itself (as long as it was created properly). Anyway, normally you don't need to worry about this as you will be using forms authentication (have a read). As an added precaution, you could set Response.Cache.SetNoStore() in the page_load for all your sensitive data pages. Thanx, Smith |
