Hello there! As you should all know our online translation platform TransiFex moved to its version 1.0 one week ago. I need to update some pages on our website. If you've read the announcement you know that they entirely rewrote the core application to be able to handle any kind of translation text file. This has several consequences, some are good, some are less desirable. The good news is that this is simpler and more transparent for translators. The bad news is that this is more complicated for developers like me :p. Here are the visible changes:
1. TransiFex now saves all translator work on its servers, you do not have to wait anymore for me to push your work onto SVN then for TransiFex to update its local copy which was read-only 2. Fuzzy translations are *not* taken into account anymore, which means that they are not in TransiFex PO files anymore, you need to download the translation files from our website if you want to use fuzzy translations 3. TransiFex does not notify me anymore when a PO file is modified (or I should ask to monitor each file one by one…) – and it does not provide any RSS/Atom feed for this 4. TransiFex provides online suggestions both based on Google translate and on learning from all translations of projects hosted on TransiFex 5. TransiFex should now handle TS translation files that Hydrogen uses for example – but I could not register them yet! 6. Components are now called resources 7. Resources can have a priority, which I use to guide new translators into translating the environment first As a result TransiFex is going to provide more features but files are now living their own life there, this is a kind of separated repository dedicated to translation. If you make a lot of translations and want me to build a new CD, I may not see your work until you send me a mail! I had to write a script to synchronize my local files with TransiFex repository. NB: if you changed something in your translations during the past week, please let me know.
